Electrician Insurance Group is the electrical-contractor brand of The Allen Thomas Group, an independent agency founded in 2003. Our focus is helping electricians across 28 states get coverage built around their actual jobs.
Who we are
Electrician Insurance Group exists for one kind of customer: the electrical contractor. That includes the service electrician with one van and a full calendar, the commercial shop running crews on three jobsites, and the specialty contractor installing solar, chargers or fire alarm systems.
We're a brand of The Allen Thomas Group. The agency is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. The agency has been independent since 2003 and holds insurance licenses in 28 states. No single insurer signs our paychecks. With 12+ A-rated carriers to choose from, our job is matching your shop to the ones that want it.
Why a site just for electricians? Because the questions that matter in this trade are specific. Underwriters want to know how much of your payroll is inside wiring versus underground or line work. GCs want certificates with exact endorsement wording. Licensing boards want proof of coverage on their schedule, not yours. A generalist agent can learn all that on your account. We'd rather already know it.

Before we talk price, we ask what you install, where, and for whom. That's what decides which carriers want your account and how it should be classified.
We compare, you choose
We put options side by side and explain the differences in limits, exclusions and deductibles. You make the call; nothing is bound until you approve it.
We stay on it
Certificates for current clients go out the same day. We track renewal dates and license requirements, and we revisit your coverage when you hire, buy trucks or take on bigger contracts.
We're straight with you
If a coverage doesn't fit your business, we'll say so. When a market passes on your type of work, you'll hear that from us directly, and we'll keep looking.
Licensed, and easy to check
Our license number in each state appears on that state's page and on our licenses page, along with our National Producer Number, 7642818. Carriers we work with include Chubb, Travelers, The Hartford, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, Progressive, Cincinnati Insurance, Auto-Owners, AmTrust and Western Reserve Group. Not every carrier writes in every state.
